When people think of an environmentally conscious lifestyle, many regard it as something inconvenient and difficult to practice—an ideal embraced only by a small number of people with progressive values and far removed from their own lives. Indeed, some actions, such as producing absolutely no waste, purchasing only fair-trade products, or adopting a vegetarian diet, can be difficult to apply immediately in everyday life. However, there are countless small ways to participate, such as carrying a reusable tumbler, avoiding plastic straws, and keeping a handkerchief on hand. Women who value the coexistence of nature and humanity and actively work to create a healthier society based on this principle unanimously believe that the environment can become much healthier if each individual makes even small changes to their lifestyle (Hyangjang, No. 620).
